Eurolife exchange grant for Dr. Kurakula

In June 2019, Dr. Konda Babu Kurakula will visit the Hospital Clinic Barcelona for 2 weeks to generate pilot data on endothelial cells from chronic thromoembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) patients. The Eurolife network provides a short-term exchange grant for this research visit.

Konda Babu, postdoc in the group of Prof. Marie Jose Goumans, will learn new techniques (e.g. isolation of endothelial cells), exchange research knowledge as well as patient material on CTEPH. During the exchange period, he will be supervised by Dr Joan Albert Barbera, Associate Professor at the Department of Medicine, University of Barcelona. Both research groups (at Hospital Clinic of Barcelona and LUMC) will benefit from this exchange and if the initial results are promising this can lead to a more extensive collaboration.

In the 4th call for Eurolife short-term research exchange grants, in total 4 researchers have been granted to visit another Eurolife institution in 2019.
