Georg Wolff obtained his PhD thesis on the “Cellular cryo-tomography of nidovirus replication organelles” cum laude. The work was conducted under the supervision of dr. Montse Barcena, Prof.dr. A.J.Koster and Prof.dr. E.J.Snijder.
The long-running and fruitful collaboration between the LUMC Electron Microscopy Facility and Linkam Scientific Instruments resulted in a new device for automated vitrification of cryo electron microscopy samples with controllable sample thickness using suction and real-time optical inspection.
