Electron Microscopy Facility

The electron microscopy facility offers different types of services, covering a wide variety of electron microscopy techniques in orde to provide can provide new medical and scientific insights. Please contact us if you have any questions.

FACILITY WORK AND COLLABORATIONS

For both small questions on a limited amount of samples and large long-running collaborations on e.g. tissue morphology, cellular localisation of proteins or the structure of protein (complexes) we can offer our services. Please contact us through the intake form, after which in an intake meeting the research question will be discussed and a detailed plan for sample imaging will be made. Our expert support staff will advise and help you with sample preparation and will image your samples using e.g. scanning electron microscopy, large scale TEM imaging, immuno-gold labeling, correlative light and electron microscopy, negative staining or cryo-electron microscopy.

TRAINING AND USE OF INSTRUMENTS

For selected projects which require repeated and straight-forward imaging, typically for testing protein purification by negative staining or cryo-electron microscopy we can provide training for negative staining, vitrification and (cryo-) electron microscopy. After a succesful introductory training, the user gets access to our booking system and the microscope.
